BLACKBERRY TO LEAVE PAKISTAN

Blackberry to leave PAKISTAN after refusing to give government access to BBM and other blackberry encyrpted technology.

BlackBerry will leave and shutdown it's services in Pakistan at year's end because demands from the country's Telecommunications Authority known as PTA would result in a massive invasion of user privacy, the company said Monday.

BlackBerry refused to agree to the government of Pakistan's order to monitor BlackBerry Enterprise Services (BES), which includes encrypted emails and BBM messages sent and received across the country. It is therefore withdrawing on December 30, Chief Operating Officer Marty Beard said in a blog post on Monday. The company said it enforces a blanket ban on allowing so-called "backdoor" access to customer information to anyone and anywhere in the world.

"Pakistan's demand was not a question of public safety; we are more than happy to assist law enforcement agencies in investigations of criminal activity," Beard said. "Rather, Pakistan was essentially demanding unfettered access to all of our BES customers' information."

On the other hand most people are considering blackberry's decision as non-sense as government and military establishment of Pakistan are already involved in war against terrorism.Knowing that military operation ZAR-E-AZB is going on in Waziristan and the success rate of that operation is very high and is appreciated by all countries across the globe. That is why military establishment of Pakistan are not taking any risks to give terrorist another life-line. Security operation across whole country is going on in form of patches  and each and every moment is being monitored carefully in such circumstances Blackberry's decision doesn't seems sensible
