DOES EA GAMING SERVER SUFFERED DDOS?

Gamers and fans of FIFA 15, FUT and other EA titles are having a bad day today as EA Servers are reportedly down.  The disgruntled gamers are venting their fury on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter.
Though no hack is suspected because EA had been having issues with the servers two days ago but a tweet from a Twitter handle KEEMSTARx raises certain eyebrows since this handle tweets the latest news of Lizard Squad.  The Lizard Squad official twitter handles have been suspended by Twitter after the Taylor Swift hacking incident.
Users and gamers are using the hashtag #EADown to make their displeasure known at not being able to play FIFA 15 and FUT online.  There are also reports that players of Battlefield 4 and Madden 2015 are also experiencing significant issues.
There has been a huge spike in complaints over the past hour on Facebook and Twitter, as well as over 1000 reports have been made on Downdetector within the last hour.
Gamers in the UK, France, Australia and the US have reported technical difficulties signing on to the servers.
FIFA gamers have reported that they are unable to play FIFA 15 online friendlies, seasons or Ultimate Team.
One frustrated gamer tweeted “Love how ea only responds when their product is for sale,” while another shared his own grouse “Having this issue since last 2 days in fifa 15 on ps3. tell me any fix ASAP!”
“The EA servers are not available at this time. Please try again later,” is the message FIFA players are getting when trying to play online.
EA Sports FIFA has not issued any clarification about the server being down as of yet.
