INTERNET GIANT YAHOO LOOKING TO SELL ITS CORE PROPERTIES WHICH INCLUDES YAHOO MAIL AND SEARCH
Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer had been desperately trying to bring costumers back to the company's products, like Yahoo Mail and search. But now it is reported that she may be considering another option which is selling Yahoo's iconic Internet services altogether, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The company will think about the decision to sell its core business during a series of meetings from Wednesday to Friday said sources.
During those meetings, everything apparently will be on table. The company will discuss its plan to spin off its stake in the Chinese online selling giant Alibaba, which is worth around $30 billion. Or it could sell its own Internet business. Or it could do both.The options for yahoo are open either they can go with alibaba or they will consider the option of selling their core business.
Yahoo which was once considered an internet all-rounder from providing mail service to search engine from video calling to chatting is now nowhere seen.Search is replaced by silicon valley prince GOOGLE while video calling is replaced by skype (which is now a microsoft product) remaining is chatting and it have been replaced by various online websites and applications like Facebook and Whatsapp
Well Yahoo should rethink and should trim away all the fat line products from its line and should focus on its strengths which is E-mail service as it is the only option which Yahoo can cash in and again can become consumer's choice .
